Taco bout love.
Who would’ve thought a traffic jam would be the stepping stone to Cilantro Tacos? Back in 2013, Nareth Meth and his son were sitting in San Diego traffic, decided enough was enough, packed up and moved to Newberry, and the rest is history.
Cilantro taco is a quant, modest restaurant in Newberry. But this isn’t some Americanized, Tex-Mex kind of Mexican restaurant. This is authentic, traditional deliciousness.
Their menu ranges from tacos, burritos, quesadillas, salads, nachos, fajitas, and combo plates. First you pick your meat: chicken or ground beef, or for $1 more, you can chose al pastor, steak, barbacoa, or carnitas. And if you’re craving seafood, you can order shrimp fish, or lengua for $2 more.
But if meat isn’t your thing, you can create your own custom vegetarian or vegan combination.
Then it is time to decide how you want it: taco, burrito, quesadilla, salad, nachos, fajitas, or a combo plate.
Cilantro Taco uses only fresh ingredients in everything they prepare. They use fresh meats, vegetables and all their salsas and sauces are made from scratch.
And when asked if you want the chips and salsa, just say yes.
They offer unlimited refills on salsa and you can sample the different tastes made in-house daily.
But beware, they aren’t kidding when they say their spicy salsa is spicy.
Everything is made fresh to order and can take time to prepare, but trust me when I say, once you take your first bite, you’ll agree the wait was worth it.
Just remember to say yes to the chips and salsa. You will thank me later.
Cilantro Tacos is located at 25740 West Newberry Road, Newberry, FL.
