La Tienda first opened in 2000. Since then the owners have dedicated themselves to serving the Gainesville community with authentic Mexican dishes. Customers have the opportunity to try over 55 different choices. Some of the dishes include tacos dorados, enchiladas, and soups and stews.
Today, the location attracts people from around the Gainesville community.
If you have never gone, try the chicken taco dorados. They are fried, rolled up tortillas with a chicken filling. It comes with many different toppings such as lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, cheese, and avocado. Add some salsa on the side to add some spice and flavor. And don’t forget a side of rice and beans.
But La Tienda, as the name suggests, is more than just a Mexican restaurant. In the back is also a Spanish Market.
Yes, a Spanish Market!
The small market is often missed by many who eat at the restaurant. But just towards the back, through a small hallway, leads to a pathway to the market which sells specialty items, spices and seasoning, produce, frozen foods, meats and home and cleaning supplies. The market also includes a great selection of treats such as candy, piñatas and cookies.
For anyone interested in trying authentic Mexican food or just want something different, La Tienda has a variety of food and goods to choose from.
